Standing Until the End
Sometimes courage is not about slogans or becoming a hero. It is about the moment someone chooses to stand between danger and the lives of others.
“Standing Until the End” tells the story of a 66-year-old woman who steps forward amid violence—not for recognition, not to become a hero, but simply to protect the younger generation.
She becomes their shield. And she is met with gunfire.
This dramatic reading is dedicated to the mothers, women, and generations who have stood between fear and hope during difficult days in Iran.
Performed by Minoo Nobahari and Hossein Afsahi, the piece seeks to capture a deeply human moment amid repression—a moment when a woman’s body becomes the last line of defence for others.
Important note: This video is not a documentary reconstruction of a specific verified incident. It is a dramatic interpretation reflecting the human experiences and realities addressed by the work.
“Standing Until the End” is the third episode of In Memory of Our Friends, a Tamasha Khaneh series dedicated to remembrance, loss, courage, and collective memory in connection with the events of January 8–9, 2026, in Iran.
